Taiz police announce the arrest of those involved in the explosion of an explosive device near the headquarters of the Islah party and information on the nature of the explosion

On Thursday evening, December 18, 2025, Taiz police announced the arrest of a number of people involved in the explosion of an explosive device near the headquarters of the Yemeni Islah party in the city of Taiz.
Police did not say how many people were arrested, saying only that they were still searching for remaining evidence related to the incident.
She said the attack killed three people and injured 11 others.
The “Yamnat” website obtained the names of the dead, and they are:
Hashem Ahmed Muhammad Abdullah Al-Shahari (7 years old), Ibrahim Al-Sharai and a third unidentified person.
He also obtained the names of eight of the injured:
Aisha Ammar Hamid Ghaleb (14 years old), Muhammad Mujib Hamed Ali (30 years old), Badi Hassan Saeed Al-Sufyani (32 years old), Mary Arif Abdullah (13 years old), Khadija Ali Qaed (23 years old), Maryam Awad Jama’i Hassan (60 years old), Ayed Abdul Rahman Saeed (13 years old), Abdulaziz Abdul Rahman Farhan (44 years old).
According to circulating reports, the device exploded at the entrance leading to the headquarters of the Yemeni Islah party in the neighboring Al-Darba district.
Reports indicated that the explosive device was wrapped in a battery and attached to a motorcycle and upon arrival at the scene, it detonated suddenly, suggesting the possibility of a remote explosion.
